In 2014 a few artists I knew gained temporary access to the former Jomar Fabrics building, a massive 70,000 sq ft warehouse space in North Philadelphia. They organized a 3-day festival, inviting over 40 artists working in sculpture, installation, video, and performance. We all spent over a week creating projects in the warehouse. My piece was an audio-visual installation using a drum set to activate an immersive grid of lights. (This was going to be the first public presentation of the project that was my central area of focus in grad school.) Unfortunately, the event was shut down by the city one day before the event was scheduled to open.  In a last ditch effort to document my work, I invited a few friends, as well as 2 drummers I had just met, Gregory McDonald and Austin Marlow. The drummers performed for a crowd of 15 people before the police arrived and ordered us to evacuate.
