This site-specific light installation used live sound from percussion instruments to activate a 3-dimensional grid of cutom LED’s . Musicians were invited to explore the connection between sound, light, and space through a series of live performances at VMFA. A 3-day series featured percussionists hailing from the Richmond, VA area. The event was headlined by 2X Grammy-award winning drummer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Nate Smith, and featured performances by Dr. Jovia Armstrong, Kelli Strawbridge, Dusty Ray Simmons, Billy Williams, and many more.
